Hey folks! This is Mike and Tom from Pacific One Collision and Restoration.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from you all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"How do you know my truck's frame is bent after a collision? | Body Shop Federal Way, WA"

Answer:

Most of the time, you won’t know just by looking at it. Frame damage is not always visible to the naked eye. Whether or not we need to measure the frame depends on how the accident occurred and where the damage is located.

For example, a minor tap to a plastic bumper cover likely doesn’t require frame measurement. However, if a vehicle is hit near the suspension, such as the rear suspension assembly where the wheel is pushed inward, there’s a higher likelihood that frame measurement is necessary. We evaluate the damage carefully and make that determination in coordination with our technicians and the insurance company to ensure everything is repaired properly before the vehicle leaves.

Summary:

Frame damage isn’t always visible. Pacific One determines whether frame measurement is needed based on impact location and severity.
