Hey folks! This is Mike and Tom from Pacific One Collision and Restoration.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from you all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"How do I know if my auto accident damage is fixable?"

Answer

So, how do you know if your auto accident is fixable by a body shop or not? That's kind of a tough question. On the surface, some accidents don't look very bad at all, but underneath some of the accidents can be very bad with like frame damage or axle damage or drivetrain damage. The best way to determine if your car is fixable or not is to get it to us so we can actually do a tear down and look at the vehicle and take everything apart to see what's really damaged under the vehicle and provide you and the insurance company an accurate estimate to do the repairs.

Summary

Lantz explained that determining if auto accident damage is fixable requires bringing the vehicle in for a tear-down to uncover any hidden damage, such as frame, axle, or drivetrain damage, which is necessary to provide an accurate repair estimate to the customer and the insurance company, noting that some vehicles may be deemed a total loss (00:02:18). While customers can send pictures, Michael Lantz strongly advised that the best way to get an accurate estimate is to physically bring the vehicle to the shop in Federal Way, especially since taking the vehicle apart may be necessary to find hidden damages and ensure the estimate is precise (00:03:30).
